a lovely surprise

soooo my lovely package exchange package came!!! my swap partner, margaret, did SUCH an amazing job figuring me out, i am so totally impressed. she said she looked at my blog for inspiration for what to get for me and i guess this blog is a pretty accurate representation of what makes my heart flutter. every time i opened something i let out a little gasp because i couldn't believe this person i have never met before could get me such perfect things. really honestly perfect.
for me! such beautiful calligraphy..

what is it? what is it? sooooo excited!
mmmmmmmmm chai tea! i'm drinking this right now actually, very tasty. perfect for this fall weather that has suddenly started.

so cute! this box is actually pale pink in real life, not sure why it picked up the colour behind it.
isn't this the most adorable hair pin you've ever seen. yes. the answer is yes.

aww these drawer pulls are what did me in. i've been lusting over them for months now waiting to go to the anthropology store to buy them. and now. they are mine. i actually gasped out loud when i opened the bird one.

polaroids + stationary= LOVE

the little yellow dress with the sea horse necklace is my favorite. i think i will figure out a way to display these in our new apartment as art. there isn't much on the walls and these are all so colourful and different.
a little pink notebook for little pink thoughts
the loot.

Thanks again margaret you have really done an amazing job, everything in this box is perfect, i only hope you enjoy your package just as much!

a summer recap

This was the summer of falling in love again, baking dinosaurs, sewing buttons, finishing school forever, having a plan to look forward to, biking too fast, trips to the post office, eating food from my garden, learning to drive standard, leaning on old friends and learning to love new ones, sunsets and sangria, iced coffee, long walks in the dark, tricking dogs with bacon, learning to breath deeper and leave the mess in the kitchen alone.

hali burton

i have three whole days off this week so monday the president woke me up and had a secret plan for us for the day. i hate secrets that i don't know (as apposed to the secrets i do know about?? nevermind) and the day turned out awesome.

we took a little drivey up to haliburton ...

and saw some wolves!
but don't worry we were behind glass...they were so close though. and huge. way bigger then i thought they would be. wolves only mate with other wolves in their own pack even if they are all brothers and sisters. (hi uncle daddy!!!) but only the alpha male and female are allowed to mate so they put so much stress on all the other members of the pack they are physically unable to carry puppies. as well, whenever this pair has a litter of puppies it means they will probably loose their position as alpha male and female because these puppies grow up and then fight them for the position. so the more puppies they bring into the pack the greater chance a young wolf will be able to fight them for the top position.

and you thought your family was full of drama. haha
then we went out for dinner and walked around 'downtown' haliburton. very cute, and quite and right on the water.

and then we saw a deer!! he was so adorable just eating crab apples not very scared of us.

after that we went to see the time travellers wife. which was awesome. i would recommend reading the book first but only because the book is so full of detail and the way its written really gets right into your heart. the movie followed the book pretty well, if anything i would say it just didn't put as much emphasis on the way the characters were dealing with the situations, what they were feeling inside -but that usually is the case with 2 hour movies that used to have 2000 pages to tell the story.

last night i made something amazing that i have wanted to do all summer. this is the clue...
