pheonix with crutches

when i stumbled across these adorable missed connections illustrations i was instantly in love. maybe i'm a sucker for love at first glance or the possibility that a moment shared between two strangers can mean something deeper. internally important enough to need to try and find that person again and justify thier feelings. missed connections takes people from anonymous travelers -frames that moment in the only medium we have.

sophie blackall takes this moment one step further and illustrates her interpretation of these missed connection listings. they are romantic and sweet. "Every day hundreds of strangers reach out to other strangers on the strength of a glance, a smile or a blue hat. Their messages have the lifespan of a butterfly. I'm trying to pin a few of them down."

asked myself why the letter 'n' all night long, then you were gone before i got a chance to ask. also, i saved you a piece of cake. do you always sit in a circle of asian girls? and sit at the top of the stairs so everyone gets a crush on you when they get to the roof?

Remember? Uptown A train. Sunday at around 9pm. I was the black dude reading Bukowski's Post Office. You were reading the Arts and Leisure section. You passed wind rather loudly and started chuckling. I'd like to see you again. The flatulence wasn't a turn-off.

So yea...um, looking for the girl who I was dancing with last night, she bit me twice. I forget her name.
